The Road

When in doubt, take the curved road.

-Mollie McClure

My dad, Bill McClure, is a rail fan, which means he nerds out on all things trains. On Saturday mornings when my sister Kathryn and I were young, he’d load us up in the car with his camera gear to chase and photograph trains. Eventually he’d put a camera in my hands to help occupy my energy.

Now we both have been shooting and traveling ever since.

My version looks like camping, winding down dirt roads, and chasing waterfalls. I try to find the intimacy and feeling of the spaces I experience. Whether its wide open canyons or the tree down the street, I aim to capture how something feels.

Live first, shoot second, and take the curved road.
