Burl Maple River Dining Table

Elegant. Functional. Artistic. Modern.

These are the cornerstones of my woodworking design style (of my life-style, I guess, as well). This design I tinkered with in my head for weeks before putting into physical form.

So the burl maple is a single slab that I studied to find the right layout that would not only showcase the best of the wood, but also create really dynamic river that won't dominate the piece. When I use epoxy, my approach is to make it appear as close to a natural material (and less plastic-y) as possible.

The metal pedestal is made by Flowyline Design and was chosen to blend in with the black river while also softening the overall appearance.
