Frequently Asked Questions
What is your printing process?
We have a partnership with a small print house out of Los Angeles, CA that handles all of our print orders. They are meticulous with their quality control and we have a great relationship with them.
All of our archive prints are printed on an inkjet press using FujiFlex Crystal Archive paper. The current lifespan is measured at 150 years and counting.
When mounted into our custom handmade frames, the prints are mounted onto dibond aluminum and coated with a UV protective coating to preserve the image from long term light exposure.
Are there any recommendations for long term care?
Ummm… absolutely! Show your love by employing these simple steps to your piece:
DO NOT USE ANY CLEANING CHEMICALS ON THE IMAGE. Wipe down the frame and image with a dry microfiber or other soft cotton cloth as needed. You may use a slightly damp cloth to remove any smudges.
Use a cloth with a wood furniture cleaner or (preferably) tung oil to wipe down the piece once a year. The drier the climate, the more frequent these applications are needed.
Which bourbon do you prefer?
Such a relevant question. Do you select one that mixes well, or do you want to go on the rocks, or neat? The answer is yes. Depending on the day I shuffle their rank, but here are a few of my favorites:
Woodford Reserve… because it’s perfect.
Basil Hayden Dark Rye… when I want to mix it up.
Bell Meade Sherry… my cousin Goodloe is their lead distiller. Yay for me!
Blantons… when I can afford it.
Templeton Rye… when I can’t afford it.
What is your shipping policy?
All orders are custom made. Please allow for 4-6 weeks for production and shipping.
For local orders within a 3 hour driving distance, we deliver the pieces ourselves. Beyond that perimeter, we ship via UPS Ground from our shop here in Asheville, NC.
We can rush delivery upon special request. Please contact us to discuss your needs; we’ll do everything we can to accommodate.
Of all your road trips, which was your favorite place?
Dang, do you pick between your kids? Maybe. Well, my favorite place to visit is actually 45 minutes from my Asheville home. Triple Falls, a trail and waterfall located in Dupont National Forest in Transylvania County, North Carolina, is about the most perfect place to spend a moment of life. Every visit is different, but every one is striking and stirring. There’s an energy there that moves me.
We all romanticize places that are far away that take time and effort to reach, but there’s something special about appreciating what’s closest to you.
